Supporting MindOut for Pride Month

The month of June welcomes Pride! 

It’s a time to celebrate all things LGBTQ+ and the fantastic people that make up these communities across the globe.

It’s also a time for reflection, thinking back to 1969 when the Stonewall riots took place in America to change rights for gay people all over the world. 

Pride events now happen every year in the form of colourful, fun-filled parades and events - celebrating acceptance and equality. There’s still plenty of work to be done… but WOW, what a phenomenal impact they have.

How are Pooch & Mutt supporting Pride?

Does Good Mood Food sound familiar? It’s the tagline behind our brand ethos - creating food and supplements to support the mental (and physical) health of our pooches. Good mental wellbeing is something we’re exceptionally passionate about when it comes to our fur babies… and people too.

Which is why we’re delighted to be supporting the LGBTQ+ charity, MindOut, this June.

Getting to know the MindOut charity

MindOut is a mental health service run by, and for, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer people with experience of mental health issues. 

The charity was set up in 2011 to help those in need have the right people supporting them. People who actually understand. Every penny donated helps LGBTQ+ people experiencing mental health distress, get the vital support they need to prevent suicide, reduce loneliness and help them challenge stigma.

They do this by:

• Listening to and responding to the LGBTQ experience of mental health
• Offering hope through positive relationships and professional expertise
• Preventing isolation, crisis and suicidal distress in LGBTQ communities
• Providing safe spaces for people to meet and support each other
• Helping people protect their rights and get their voices heard
• Campaigning and creating conversations  about LGBTQ mental health throughout the world
