We are very excited to introduce something special we have been working on behind the scenes here at Pooch & Mutt. This new range of tasty treats targets some important areas of canine health and offers a range of benefits. From skin and coat to mental wellbeing and oral hygiene, there is something here for every pooch and mutt.
As well as helping to address underlying issues, the ingredients in these Meaty Treats can also prevent problems from developing in the first place. These treats can be fed whenever you like, such as during training sessions and as little rewards for good behaviour but remember, treats should never make up more than 10% of your furry friend’s diet.

Shrimp & Coconut for Skin and Coat
Why not treat your furry friend to a taste of Thailand? These delicious treats have a tropical flavour and are sure to go down a storm. These are the perfect snack for those dogs that are prone to dry or itchy skin or who may need a little bit of help developing their glossy coat.
Packed with Collagen and Omega 3 that can improve skin barrier function, skin remains healthy and hydrated. A broken skin barrier can result in more infections and an urge to itch so we must do all we can to keep it intact.
The Melon is a natural source of Anti-oxidants which can help to reduce inflammation; something which is especially important for patients with Atopic Dermatitis and Allergies.
We’ve also added Biotin. Research has proven that this B vitamin is key for healthy skin, coat and claws and it must be supplemented as dogs cannot manufacture themselves.
Of course, we haven’t forgotten those all-important Probiotics. Here at Pooch & Mutt, we are proud to take a holistic approach to canine health. We understand the many positive effects that probiotics exert. Healthy skin and a shiny coat, oftentimes, begins in the gut.

Duck & Rosemary for Dental Health
These traditionally flavoured treats are sure to go down well. The duck offers a rich and irresistible taste experience; your dog won’t believe it when you tell them just how good for them these treats really are!
Herbs such as Rosemary and Sage have long been seen as medicinal and are known to provide antibacterial and antioxidant effects. Reducing bacteria levels can lead to reduced plaque formation and can help maintain healthy gums. On top of this, breath will automatically smell fresher.
Collagen, a structural protein, has been added to aid in gum healing and to bolster jaw and tooth health. When we support the tissues around the teeth, we can help keep them in good shape for longer.
As a real bonus, the Sodium HMP has been scientifically proven to help to soften and remove calculus (without you even having to get that dreaded toothbrush out!). This results in less gingivitis and an overall healthier mouth.

Turkey & Hemp for Calming
Even the most laid-back dog can suffer with their nerves from time to time. These calming treats are a great way to help our four-legged friends relax and unwind.
Hemp is an exciting ingredient that has a whole host of benefits. It is an all-natural stress reliever and is rich in Omega 3s, Omega 6s and Antioxidants. While the research is in its infancy and the benefits are still not fully understood, hemp is anecdotally a very effective stress reliever. For some, it seems to be able to reduce stress and even offer mild pain relief. It is worth trying for those dogs with behavioral issues linked to nervousness, such as noise phobias and separation anxiety.
Valerian root has been used in the treatment of sleep disorders for hundreds of years. It acts as a mild sedative on the central nervous system and can help your dog get their forty winks. It can be especially useful for older dogs who struggle to nod off and stay sleeping.
The amino acid L Tryptophan has been added to these treats for a ‘good mood boost’. Your clever dog will turn this nutrient into the brain chemical called Serotonin. Serotonin promotes feeling of well-being and happiness and is great at ‘taking the edge off’.
We couldn’t help but add Probiotics to these meaty treats too. Their benefits are vast reaching and they are especially useful for anxious dogs. They help to settle the gut and support cognitive function. The gut-brain axis is the link between the gastrointestinal tract and the brain, and it needs to be well supported to ensure a calm and happy dog.
